Green Granola

I went home to my apartment (still under renovation), went hunting for inspiration for my granola recipe, and found this black honey from Istanbul and a bag of spirulina in the fridge. It all fell into place, so this granola is a green one, and I have been sprinkling it on everything :-)

Green Granola:

  • 1 big bowl of chopped nuts and seeds (I used almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, black sesame, pumpkin seeds)

  • 2 tbsp of ground flax

  • 1.5 tbsp of coconut oil

  • 1.5 tbsp of honey

  • 2 large pinches of sea salt

  • 1 heaping tbsp of spirulina

Preheat the oven to 165°C

Chop all the nuts into chunks (or pulse a few times in the food processor)

In a big bowl, add the nuts, seeds, flax, spirulina, and salt.

Heat up the coconut oil, remove from heat, and stir in the honey.

Pour over the nuts and seed mixture and combine everything.

Bake for 20 minutes and cool if you have the patience :-)
